US Congress Speaker Pelosi on ‘the progressives’ contraceptive master plan

Catholic News Agency

Pelosi attempts to justify funding for contraception in economic stimulus package

Washington DC (CNA). – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in a Sunday interview tried to justify the inclusion of hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for contraceptives in the $825 billion economic stimulus package by claiming family planning services “reduce cost.”

Speaker Pelosi made her comments in an appearance on ABC’s This Week with host George Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos asked how the expansion of “family planning services” could be considered an economic stimulus. The Speaker replied:

“Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.”

Stephanopoulos responded, “So no apologies for that?” “No apologies. No,” Speaker Pelosi replied.

“We have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.”

Speaker Pelosi is a self-described Catholic.

US Military burned unsolicited Bibles sent to Afghanistan: REPORT

May 22, 2009

Geraldld Ford Shriner
Military personnel threw away, and ultimately burned, confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans, a Defense Department spokesman said Tuesday.

The unsolicited Bibles sent by a church in the United States were confiscated about a year ago at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan because military rules forbid troops of any religion from proselytizing while deployed there, Lt. Col. Mark Wright said.

Such religious outreach can endanger American troops and civilians in the devoutly Muslim nation, Wright said.

“The decision was made that it was a ‘force protection’ measure to throw them away, because, if they did get out, it could be perceived by Afghans that the U.S. government or the U.S. military was trying to convert Muslims,” Wright told CNN on Tuesday.

Troops at posts in war zones are required to burn their trash, Wright said.

This decision came to light recently, after the Al Jazeera English network aired video of a group prayer service and chapel sermon that a reporter said suggested U.S. troops were being encouraged to spread Christianity.

“This was irresponsible and dangerous journalism sensationalizing year-old footage of a religious service for U.S. soldiers on a U.S. base and inferring that troops are evangelizing to Afghans,” Col. Gregory Julian said.

The military says a soldier at Bagram received the Bibles and didn’t realize he wasn’t allowed to hand them out. In the Al Jazeera video, which shows the Bibles at the prayer service, an unnamed soldier says members of his church raised money for them.

The chaplain later corrected the soldier and confiscated the Bibles, Wright said.

That could lead to violence against troops or U.S. civilians, Wright said.

No need for public inquiry into G20 chaos say Freemason Premier of Ontario and Freemason Mayor of Toronto

Toronto Star
Ontario won’t call public inquiry into G20 chaos

Mon Jun 28 2010

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dalton McGuinty
Queen’s Park says it’s up to Ottawa to call a public inquiry into the G20 Summit that roiled Toronto.

And Toronto Mayor David Miller insists no inquiry is needed, saying the city’s Police Services Board will conduct a routine review with input from citizens — and anyone who feels they were mistreated by police can complain directly to the provincial Office of the Independent Police Review Director.

But Ontario’s New Democrats say there are “far more questions than there are answers” after the wild weekend of violence and the decisions that led up to it, making it essential to have an inquiry into how Toronto was chosen, security was planned, as well as police tactics and strategy over the weekend.

“It’s unbelievable so many crimes could be committed in the presence of so many police officers,” said New Democrat MPP and justice critic Peter Kormos, referring to the “black bloc” protesters who ran amok despite a security tab of almost $1 billion.

Ex; Buffalo NY Sherriff Deputy Charged in Freemason Royal Order of Jesters Mann Act Case

Buffalo News
Ex-deputy charged in Jesters case

June 09, 2010

The ‘Jesters’ are an internal secret society of Freemason Shriners. All of Leaders of the Shrine are members of the Royal Order of Jesters according to biographical information previously contained on the Shriners International Website.

Royal Order of 'Jesters'

Federal prosecutors charged a former Erie County sheriff’s deputy with taking prostitutes across state lines five years ago to attend a convention of a fraternal club.

Michael Lesinski, who retired from police work in November 2008, is the latest person charged in a government probe into human-trafficking activities involving the Royal Order of Jesters.

Lesinski made arrangements for a limousine to transport at least a dozen prostitutes from Buffalo Niagara International Airport in Cheektowaga to a hotel in Niagara Falls, Ont., in April 2005, according to charges filed by the U. S. attorney’s office.

Niagara Falls was the site of a Jesters convention — known as a “book” — for Jesters from across the United States, FBI Special Agent Jennifer Amo said in court papers.

Retired State Supreme Court Justice Ronald H. Tills—who is now in prison — was in charge of transportation for the event, Amo said.

“This transportation was for [Jesters] members and the ‘Jester Girls’ [prostitutes],” Amo said in court papers. “Tills delegated that duty to Michael Lesinski, a member of the [Jesters] and then an active deputy sheriff with the Erie County Sheriff’s Department.”

Lesinski is charged with conspiring to violate the Mann Act, a federal law that prohibits transporting people across state lines for prostitution.

The former road deputy, who was with the Sheriff’s Office for 21 years, is expected to appear before Magistrate Judge

Bro. Mulroney’s actions -inappropriate- Bro. Oliphant says

Freemasons Brian Mulroney PC and Richard Wolson QC, Lead Oliphant ‘Inquiry’ Counsel

Former prime minister Brian Mulroney accepted cash-stuffed envelopes from Karlheinz Schreiber “as part of a scheme” to conceal the payments, a commission of inquiry has found. But after spending at least $14-million, listening to 39 days of testimony and reviewing 150,000 pages of evidence, the Oliphant inquiry couldn’t say what he did to earn it.

In a sometimes scathing examination of Mr. Mulroney’s acceptance of at least $225,000 in cash from the German-born, and now incarcerated, lobbyist, Mr. Justice Jeffrey Oliphant, the inquiry’s chair, repeatedly called Mr. Mulroney’s actions “inappropriate.” He described his own “skepticism” of the former prime minister’s explanation about the work he performed for the money, and called Mr. Mulroney’s explanation for his failure to disclose the payments during a court proceeding “patently absurd.”

Almost as soon as Judge Oliphant and his legal staff concluded their remarks to the media Monday, calls began for the government to recoup the $2.1-million that the Justice Department agreed to pay Mr. Mulroney’s lawyers and public-relations team in 1997 as part of a settlement agreement.

That settlement, made long before the cash payments in hotel rooms were known, was the conclusion to a defamation lawsuit that the former prime minister launched against the government over a letter the RCMP sent to Switzerland. In the letter, the Mounties accused Mr. Mulroney and Mr. Schreiber of defrauding the Canadian government in relation to Air Canada’s 1988 purchase of 34 Airbus airplanes, a charge that Mr. Mulroney vigorously denied.
