Hundreds of masons from across the state Saturday gathered in Winchester to install and dedicate the cornerstone of the the Randolph County Courthouse addition. In spite of triple digit temperatures, the ceremony went basically as planned with only one unwelcome incident.

The one hour and 10 minute ceremony, planned and hosted by Winchester Lodge 56, Free and Accepted Masons, was followed by public tours of the renovated courthouse. The ceremony included the installation of a time capsule with items from the county commissioners and county sheriff, photos of the construction process, articles from area newspapers and mementos from the Randolph County Tea Party.
